STOOLS ARE NOT JUST FOR SITTING

Throughout history, stools have had symbolic meaning among different cultures. In Akan culture, the Golden Stool embodies the Asante nation’s soul, representing unity and sovereignty. In minimalist design, stools serve as functional art pieces, offering seating while maintaining simplicity and enhancing spatial openness. Our stools also combine the properties of natural stone with other material like cloth. This helps with our philosophy that marble or travertine is just one part of the total design of an interior. Our love for natural stone can only exist in a context with other materials. Our stools represent a visual symbiosis between two materials. Each of our designs has the charisma to stand on its own, whether used beside a sofa, next to a bed, or as a small display pedestal. 

RARE PIECES AND NEW ARRIVALS 

All of our designs serve a clear purpose, whether placed in a hotel lobby or a Penthouse  bedroom, but like the changing of the seasons products come and go. When we decide that we need to make place for a new design, some of the items in our collection may be moved to our studio sale section. This section also includes samples, prototypes and last-chance pieces with slight variations. We believe there is a hidden beauty in many of the imperfections natural stone can have. Like the ancient Japanse art of Kintsugi, where unintentional cracks are highlighted with colour to celebrated the character of the cracks. These cracks occur during the baking process of the ceramic process, making each piece unique. We also believe in the esthetic's of small cracks or colour differences. These imperfections make each piece rare and it plays an important role in our minimal waste policy.

CARE FOR STONE

Each table or stool is built for long-term use. No assembly is needed. Surfaces are sealed for light resistance but should be used with care. Always keep your stone dry and clean. Use coasters or pads when placing items with liquids, heat or moisture. Proper care is essential to maintain the beauty and longevity of natural stone products like marble and travertine. Regular cleaning with pH-neutral solutions, prompt spill removal, and periodic sealing protect against stains and etching. By following these practices, you ensure these elegant materials remain pristine and durable in your home.
